Editorial Reviews

Product Description:
The aluminum-framed MetroLite LE provides the sturdiness of a standard sized stroller with the comfort and convenience of a lightweight stroller. The never-flat rubber tires promise a smooth ride and because they are made of solid rubber they are puncture proof - no flats!

The comfy seat reclines to 3 positions, including nearly flat for infants. An adjustable handle allows mom and dad to each adjust the stroller to their height needs and both mom and dad are sure to enjoy the one-hand fold mechanism which makes storing the stroller a breeze. Plus the MetroLite LE is outfitted with an extra-large lower and load storage basket, making it easy to access even when your child is asleep!

The MetroLite LE also features an infant head rest, a large canopy with top and rear peek-a-boo windows, and a parent organizer and child snack tray - both outfitted with a cup holder. Best of all the MetroLite LE is compatible with our SnugRide infant car seat!

MetroLite is the way to go! by E. A. Donovan
I researched everything we bought for our baby boy but I have reviewed almost nothing. I am taking the time to review this stroller because I have been so happy with it. The MetroLite is Graco’s lightest full-sized stroller. I am a wimp and drive a small car so I did not want anything big and bulky. The MetroLite is almost 10 lbs lighter than Graco’s popular Quattro stroller. I have no problem hefting it in and out of my trunk. It has a lot of nice convenience features for mom and dad, including two adult cup holders, a good size basket underneath, and it folds up very easily. You can set the recline at various degrees and it has breaks on both back wheels. It also maneuvers beautifully! I take it shopping all the time and I have no problem getting between the racks and it is very easy to maneuver one handed.

My only complaint is the fact that Graco makes so many gender specific fabric patterns. I don’t know about you, but a travel system is a big purchase that I want to be able to use with future children, boys or girls. I ended up ordering it on-line in Milan which is extremely cute - aqua and chocolate brown - appropriate for a boy or girl. I get compliments on it all the time.

FYI - I also got the matching SnugRide car seat to make it a travel system (sold separately). Also highly recommended.

    Love it by Maryland_Dad
We bought this stroller with the infant car seat as a package. We have continued to use the stroller long after our son outgrew the infant seat. Overall, I am very pleased with the item. Our son loves to nap in the stroller and the large basket underneath is very useful for us. The trays for both child and parent are so useful that it’s hard to consider another stroller that does not have a tray for food, toys and drinks for our son. So even though this item is a lot heavier than the umbrella strollers - once you get used to the comfort and convenience of this style stroller, it’s hard to imagine others would be better. The frame did get bent at one point, and sometimes it is hard to navigate through small spaces. Overall, this stroller is a great value and is extremely practical. Our child has found it to be very comfortable and I would recommend it to anyone.

Very nice stroller, but be careful! by Family Guy
We got this stroller (actually, a very similar, earlier model) as a shower gift for our first baby, and we really liked it a lot. It was surprisingly light, in spite of its somewhat bulky frame. I’ve seen that other reviewers have been disappointed with the stroller’s maneuverablility, but I find it fairly easy to maneuver even though it is a larger stroller. When we looked at it in the store, I was able to turn it 360 degrees very easily with just one finger (obviously, results will vary when you add the weight of a child, but it was still quite maneuverable).

It folds fairly easily, but you do have to make sure the front wheels are pointing straight out to avoid problems. As I said, it is a bit bulky, so sometimes getting it into the trunk is a bit difficult, but you just have to go slowly and make sure it doesn’t catch on anything. We also were very happy with the attached infant seat, which served us well for the first six months until we needed a larger seat. It was very convenient to be able to snap it in and out of the base and stroller without waking our child up.

    Now, the warning:

Be very careful when handling the stroller by the handle (lifting, steering, etc.). I recently went to unfold it, and the plastic handle snapped on one side. It made a clean break, just above where the plastic handle fits onto the pipe frame. Had this happened within the 1 year warrnty period, no problem. But now, I’m out of warranty, and I have no recourse. I called customer support, and they don’t even have a replacement part because the handle is part of the frame. It’s less than two years old, and now I have to replace it. I was told that the handle breaking wasn’t something that normally happens, so it’s hard to tell if I got a faulty unit, or if I’m just unlucky. Either way, I now have to spend money to replace it.

All in all, I like the stroller for its performance and features, but be VERY careful handling it, as it is apparently less durable than it seems.

    BIG stroller by kes4210
This stroller is convenient and inconvenient for exactly the same reason, it is big. The pros — the basket size is great for an all day shopping trip or if you need to haul a lot of stuff to an event. The parent tray is a nice feature as long as you make sure the bottles are smaller than 20 oz or the to-go cups are small enough to fit. The snack tray is also a nice feature to keep your child busy while you shop or walk. The easily adjustable handle is also nice for parents of differing heights. The cons — the stroller itself is cumbersome to move in and out of small spaces like store aisles. Despite the swivel front wheels, the stroller is hard to navigate because of the single bar handle and again because it is a large stroller. The reclining function is difficult to use. The stroller is easy to fold but heavy and will consume the entirety of a mid-size car’s trunk. I cannot recommend this stroller for everyday use or for the stay-in-the-trunk stroller for occasional use simply because of its size. It is only convenient when, on those rare occasions, the extra basket space is needed for hauling stuff or for all day mall shopping.
